Jimmy’s way home

Update August 8/24: WOW. Thank you to everyone who donated and to all those who sent lovely messages to the kids we are overwhelmed by the support. Since this was just a pipe dream that loved ones have made a true reality we are in the process of budgeting out the cost for this trip to happen in the spring and have updated the total after meeting our first goal in just 2 days with others reaching out requesting the link. Please know the messages and stories about their dad on their facebook postings mean the most to the kids - please get those stories to them. We are NOT go fund me people. Such an understatement. But to be able to plan this out of the response already received is an amazing thing. Thank you so much to all who are reaching out in any way. The kids feel your love and support <3......Kim

Hi my name is Kim and I’m fundraising for my two kids, Teagan and Eden, who lost their dad, Jimmy Leslie, August 1, 2024 after a long battle with kidney disease.
As both kids are attending full time studies at TRU but both know their dad would want his ashes placed in Nova Scotia soil where he always called home they are faced with the task of getting him there in the spring to celebrate his life with the friends and family who knew him best. Also so many dear friends have asked what they can do and they were struggling to answer this question, when discussions for celebrating their dad came up. We thought this might be a practical way to help them ease the burden of making sure they are able to provide these last caring moments for their dad in a way that is joyous and sensitive to who he was and what he wanted.
Jim always wanted to drive back across country with the kids to NS but did not get the chance. Depending on funding, Eden and Teagan would like to rent an RV next year with their partners and travel across with him, stopping where he might, and end in Nova Scotia where his sisters will have a send off planned for him with family and friends who loved him.
If this trek across country can be funded through these efforts our family is grateful. Both kids attend full time studies at TRU with limited opportunities to work through the school year relying on scholarships, grants and bursaries they receive in recognition of their outstanding grades. Any funds are appreciated and plans will be made in the new year for his journey home after classes end and before they begin work studies.
Thank you for your thoughts and the love that has been pouring in from all fronts for the kids. They feel the support and as the mom hoping to see them through this with their happy memories intact and the details easily managed I am particularly grateful.
To the man who gave me the 2 of the most brilliant humans I could ever meet I am forever blessed and I wish you peace and freedom from all suffering and that the universe holds your soul with love forever more.
Thanks everyone.
