JJ was tragically taken from this world by a sudden illness at the much too young age of 36. What started as a simple fever, took him in one short day. We are all crushed by this loss.
JJ leaves behind a wife and two small children. And he was preceded in death by a precious daughter.
In the midst of this unspeakable tragedy, his brothers and sisters want to do what we can for his family as they face the prospect of living without him. We hope to provide funds for unexpected expenses during this transition, home improvements, and maybe even enough for a nest egg and a college fund for the children. I have no idea what to put as a goal - but I hope we can help a lot.
JJ gave all he had to those around him. He was a high school art teacher who cared for his students. He lived life with passion and courage every day of his life. He loved art and music, and there was nothing better than listening to him play his guitar in the background of family gatherings. He touched countless lives, mentored countless people, and the world is a better place because of all he gave.
Many people have asked what they can do to remember JJ. I cannot think of a better thing than to help his family during this very difficult time.
JJ - we love you. You will be missed.
