JJ and Megan UHaul Theft

Hi everyone! We traveled 3,000 miles from NC to Seattle, WA with our two cats for a big move. Everything went smoothly until we arrived in Seattle on July 9th. We woke up the next morning, July 10th, to a stolen Uhaul trailer and hitch that was attached to Megan's car with everything we own in it. We found our lock cut off near the car and a storage container with holiday decorations thrown across the parking lot. A police report was filed and they told us there is nothing they can do. To make matters worse there were no cameras at the hotel we stayed at or nearby. We still moved into our apartment that day but had no items to move in with.
Around 2:00 am on July 11th a civilian spotted the Uhaul abandoned in Denny's parking lot. We were extremely hopeful that our sentimental things were left in the abandoned trailer as they don't hold value to anyone else except for us. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the scene around 3:00 am this was not the case. Everything was gone except a broken bed frame, shattered glass everywhere from items that were broken, broken pieces of our ladder shelf, Megan's diploma, and a couple of her classic archaeology pictures. The individuals who stole and destroyed our stuff even took the flag off Megan's color guard pole and left the pole behind. There was one lone picture of us underneath shattered glass from a picture frame. This was heartbreaking to see and comprehend that someone would do this and it is as hard emotionally as it is financially. Homeowners insurance can take a very long time to get money back, and we were informed that it will be extremely hard to get anything back due to the fact our items were in a Uhaul and not our home, depreciation, and because there is no way to prove what was in the Uhaul.
Everything we own was in that Uhaul, all of our furniture, clothing, kitchen items, bathroom items, expensive camping gear, cat items, souvenirs, etc. We are extremely distraught as all of our sentimental items were in the Uhaul (trip souvenirs from our National Park adventures, college memories, special things we made for each other etc.). We are both first-generation low-income college students and all of our mementos from college are gone that we hoped to share with our children one day. All of our current college books were stolen (we are both currently in graduate school programs in the field of education). While we know these sentimental things can't be replaced, there are plenty of things that can be replaced with your help! Every single clothing item Megan owns was in the Uhaul and she starts work next week and doesn't have money for new clothing. This move was extremely expensive and we don't get paid from work for over a month due to billing periods in addition to graduate school costs. JJ works in education and doesn't start work until August. For those of you who don't know our story, we were planning to get married in late August, but because of this awful incident that is putting us back so much financially, we don't think we will be able to.
We do not know how we are going to afford to replace any of our stuff or move forward with these big life plans. Anything will help us, even sharing this will help and is greatly appreciated. If you want to Venmo us, you can at either JJ-Osborn or Megan-Abernathy-1.
