Help me stay in school

Ever since I was 16 year old I have been working hard to become a nurse. I have worked as an EMT, a medical assistant and now recently I have been working as a LVN in home health and in nursing homes. In my short time as a nurse I have personally helped people get healthier and stronger under my care, saved countless others and unfortunately seen some of my favorite patients pass. I love what I do and don’t see my self doing anything else. I recently got accepted into a BSN program in Riverside to further my education. I initially got approved for a loan and was able to attend. But that company dropped out of their contract with my school leaving me to come up with $84,000 to keep my spot in my program. My financial aide is already being used for some of the cost and I have already applied for grants and scholarships but those alone are not enough to cover my tuition. I have applied to other loan agencies and have been denied since my income is too low for that amount of money. The money being raised is going towards my schools month-month plan and will give me enough time to work through the rest of the tuition and apply for a smaller loan. I work on my days off from school and have a second nursing job in San Jose that I work in between my school terms so I can cover at least two months of rent so I focus on my studies while I am in school. Unfortunately that still isn’t enough to keep me in this program in the eyes of these loan agencies. I have reached out to a few people to see if co-signing is an option and understandably I have been turned down since it’s such a large lump sum. I understand that asking for that much is a lot to consider given that we all have our own lives to take care of first. So I’ve decided to take this approach. My plan is to raise half of the asking tuition and attempt to take out a smaller loan later down the line when I can establish my self more in Riverside. In my line of work I sacrifice my time willingly to give back to my community so I am asking for just a little help in return to continue helping others.

Update: I’ve raise enough to pay for a few months of school, that gave me enough time to find a few sponsors that are willing to invest in me. Through crowdfunding, I found that there is so much generosity and love for one another. I am forever greatful to those of you who have donated and those who have helped advertise my situation. Thank you to those who are taking a chance on me and my journey.

I now have enough momentum to make my dreams come true.
