Helping Patti get back on her feet

To know my mom is to love her. She is the most generous , understanding, non-judgemental person I have ever known. My mom raised 4 daughters as a single
mother, most of my pre-teen and teenage years she worked 3 jobs to make ends meet... with no car!!! She took two buses to one job and walked to the other two. She was the mom all our friends loved and if they needed a mom to talk to, they went to Patti. Life, unfortunately, has not been as kind to her. She has had many, many difficulties and tragedies from childhood on up. My mom is a very private person when it comes to personal issues, so some might be surprised to know she lived in a very unhealthy relationship for 30 years with the last 10 becoming increasingly worse. With no job, no money and literally the clothes on her back, she left her husband and ended up going and living in a domestic violence shelter for almost 4 months, because she absolutely hates to be a burden to anyone, doesn't like to ask for help and knew the shelter would have the resources to help get her divorce  going, give her counseling, and help her with things like medical insurance etc..
Right before Christmas my mom came to California to spend the holidays with her family. We could all see the change in her. She seemed happier and more like the old Patti than we had seen in years. While in Ca, she was genuinly enjoying time with her family. Unfortunately  on the night of January 14, 2016 after my mom had enjoyed a wonderful dinner with her daughter and  granddaughter, she was in a horrible accident. Right after my sister left my mom said she was feeling happier than she had felt in forever and she decided to go onto my uncles roof which is flat and has been used as a deck for many years, but right as she got up the stairs and took a few steps, she realized it was dark and she didn't feel comfortable up there alone, so she turned to go back down the stairs and stepped on the sun roof  and crashed through the glass and fell 16 feet to the kitchen floor below! Luckily a neighbor heard the crash and scaled a gate 3 stories up to get to my mom. She would have died had he not found her! My mom suffered many broken and fractured bones. Her pelvis, hips, 5 ribs, punctured lung, bones in her shoulder..front and back.. she was in the hospital for 30 days.. intubated, restrained and with a chest tube.
She was discharged from the hospital on February 17th and has been staying with her daughters. She is walking with a walker and still has a blood clot in her leg that needs very close monitoring. Pain will be an ongoing issue but she is getting through it and each day seems a little better.
It is now time for her to start over and rebuild. She will be getting her own apartment soon (she has never lived alone) and is starting with nothing. She will need everything from silverware to furniture. We are trying to help her get on her feet so she can have a happy and healthy future and for the first time in her life, be independent and happy. She was off to such a good start! We were and are so proud of her for taking the initiative to get away from the man that made her life so unbearable and she keeps on fighting  to move forward even on a walker, she's determined to move on and have a happy life. The problem is she has NOTHING. The only people my mom has at this point are my sisters and I. We are all like most everyone else, living paycheck to paycheck to pay our bills, so any little bit will help. Ever dollar will get my mom that much closer to her own fplace to call home. Any and all is so greatly appreciated. Thank you!
