JLMS Community Murals Project
Donation protected
James Lick Middle School is rich with a diverse population of students from San Francisco. Many of our students come from communities like the Mission and Bayview/Hunterspoint. In these communities, neighbors share their vibrant community values and life on the walls through art, murals, and graffiti.
Unfortunately, when our students come into the school, they do not see the vibrancy of their communities represented. Some students even visualize the school looking like a prison with its bare walls.
More than ever, it is time to bring the community into our school through the arts. Art can be a great way to heal and healing is what we all need with after the past couple years of this pandemic. Our students will have a chance to heal and create a sense of belonging together through these art projects. With your donations, we will be able to commission local artist to work with our students to paint murals and beautify their school campus.
Support in making James Lick Middle School reflect our students and be more of an inspirational home for student learning.
