Our Story:

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to read about our crowdfund project. Semi-Active Monitoring (www.semiactivemonitoring.com) is the next spectacular improvement in home security and home protection. Created by a team of IT professionals, who grew tired of seeing the terrible stories of mass murders, home invasions, and other dangers to safety, Semi-Active Monitoring provides individuals and families a safe way to protect their families against danger.

Semi-Active Monitoring utilizes a network of Android-based devices, all hooked into a secure, encrypted private network. The homeowner has the option of using the devices in tandem, or separately, depending on their home’s design and their security needs. The homeowner can also assign a “safe word” for the monitoring system so the homeowner can trigger the system even in the event that the homeowner is feeling unsafe or threatened by an unknown person. When strategically placed around the interior of the home, our monitoring system uses image recognition to identify dangerous situations involving a weapon, protecting the homeowner by launching a series of countermeasures.

Using the non-lethal force of bright focused light, loud alarm screamers and potentially even tasers mounted into the home’s ceilings, our monitoring system works to stun and deter the assailant, allowing the homeowner and his loved ones a chance to escape from danger and allowing law enforcement personnel to step in and apprehend the suspect.

Impact:

Today’s news is filled with stories no one wants to hear: from home invasions causing the death of multiple family members, mass murders in public places and educational institutions, and more, no one feels very safe in their homes anymore. While the option is always there to own a firearm, many families with younger children do not feel this drastic method is worth the danger to their children, should they discover the weapon on their own.

The average security and monitoring system can actively notify the police that there is an intruder and warn the intruder that help is on the way, but most do nothing to actually protect and deter the assailant from continuing the assault. While this is still safer for the homeowner than being completely without any kind of monitoring system, it is easy to see where this kind of system drops the ball on behalf of the homeowner’s safety. In cases where the homeowner or individual is already disabled or unable to fight back on their own, this can become a very dangerous situation resulting in a potentially tragic ending. 

Semi-Active Monitoring allows families, as well as individuals living on their own, the presence of mind that they are always safe, and that there is always “someone” keeping an eye on them. Whether utilizing the monitoring system automatically, or using the safe word when in a dangerous situation, SAM offers additional protection to the family without causing any unnecessary harm or death to the assailant, allowing law enforcement the opportunity to step in and apprehend them.

By making a donation to our campaign, you are helping us raise the funds necessary to get our monitoring system out to the people who are truly in need. No one should feel unsafe in their own homes, but sadly, this is a trend in today’s society. With Semi-Active Monitoring, we can give homeowners and their loved ones a chance at being just a little bit safer in their own community.

What We Need:

Our ultimate goal is to be able to offer our software and design plans to homeowners for free, and to commercial business users at a low cost. We do not seek to be millionaires from this product; in fact, we would like to see this monitoring system in every home for free! But we can’t do this without your help!

We are attempting to raise at least $1,250,000 through this crowdfund campaign, to help us with the development, production, and distribution phases of our project. We also anticipate the need to hire additional staff, and have created a budget to do so using a portion of this funding amount.

If we can fully fund our campaign, we anticipate it would be another year before we’re ready to distribute. Without your help, it could take much longer, putting even more people at risk! Please take a moment to donate to our campaign and help bring safety to every home in the country!
