I'm here to tell you about a hometown hero who has taken on the huge task for the last twelve years to maintain a community park for the citizens of Tacoma.
Jman McKinley Park Patnode (Danny Patnode, who even identifies himself with the park) has been putting in over (way over) 1200 hours a year keeping McKinley Park manicured and clean, building new additions for everyone to enjoy. He does this for all of us, and has never asked for a dime.
There have been setbacks, damage to the park by weather and humans that caused hours of work to bring back the beauty of the park. The rolling hills of McKinley park aren't easy to maintain, especially without proper equipment.
Penny Brands so graciously donated a riding mower that was needed so badly. Thank you Jack Eide for picking it up and bringing it to Danny. That takes care of the mowing for now, but the hills of the park are hard on equipment not meant to do the work that has to be done.
These are Danny's own words:
"I can't pick up piles with the riding mower and there are a lot of piles The park already has had two fires this month from old piles . With this I can haul heavy loads carry the mowers and be able to dump loads of mulch in hard to get areas .This is the game changer . Plus the riding mowers aren't meant to be used to haul and constantly travel steep hills that's why the motor blew up and will eventually on this one ...!!!
I've created this go fund me page to help Danny get the equipment he needs. It starts small. A simple act of kindness, but it can ripple out and create an ocean of prosperity in the world.
Please don't think that any amount of money is too small. Honestly, $5 is plenty. You shouldn't feel you have to give any more than that. I believe there are enough people who care about Danny and his cause that with $5 each, we will pass the goal easily.
If you want to see Danny you will find him most days in the park. However, you might have to look around a bit, he may be clearing the way for you.
Thank you for being willing to make a difference and to give Danny the help he needs to continue the work he does for us.
