Whiskers Pet Rescue Emergency Medical Fundraiser

Tax deductible
Handsome, friendly Wolfgang was surrendered to Whiskers with entropion. Entropion is a condition where the eyelid turns inward, causing the eyelashes to rub against the eye, and it is very painful. It can also cause blindness. Wolfgang required two surgeries to correct this problem and is currently recovering in a medical foster home.

Sweet Rosemary was surrendered to Whiskers with symblepharon. Symblepharon is a condition where the conjunctiva (the thin membrane covering the white part of the eye) becomes permanently adhered to the eyelid, causing pain, scarring and deformation. This condition was caused by a severe herpes virus eye infection that went untreated for too long before she came to Whiskers. Her eyelids had to be surgically separated from the attached membranes. Rosemary is currently recovering in a medical foster home.

Surgery and ongoing medical care for Wolfgang and Rosemary has already amounted to $10,000. We need our supporters to please rally around us and these two adorable and worthy kitties. Whiskers is funded by a few small grants and primarily donations from people like you, who love animals and want to help us help them. We do not receive any government funding. Whiskers Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and all donations are tax deductible.

Whiskers rescues and adopts out approximately 700 cats and kittens per year. This year has been exceptionally hard because of the higher cost of supplies and vet care. Many of the rescues and surrenders this year required more than just standard medical care to become healthy and ready for adoption. Our medical bills are extremely high right now.
