Janet's Disaster Relief fund

Hello, my name is Tiffani Methvien.

I'm sure some of you know about the destruction that occurred this past month due to flooding in Louisiana, my home state. My mom was hit really hard, loosing everything including clothes, antiques from my grandmother who passed in early 2005, all appliances inside her home and most of the home itself. Water made it up to 3.5 feet inside the house forcing her to evacuate via national guard. She returned to ruins.

Over the past year my mother has been battling health issues and has been forced to go on disability due to epilepsy secondary to stroke. My sister is in undergrad and trying to help, but with everything that needs to get replaced its not enough. 

My mother has gone through alot in trying to support myself and my sister.  She is a single mother who had been supporting 2 daughters through college (my sister in undergrad and myself now in grad school).  After her stroke over a year ago, she was unable to return to work; all she had was her house which she had been slowly trying to pay off/restore for over 10 years now.  After the flood she lost everything, the house was left in ruins.  I want to help my mom anyway I can.  She has gotten really depressed over this and is not in good health as it is.  

All proceeds from this page will go towards helping her rebuild and get back most of what she had lost (a good portion was heirlooms which can never be replaced including pictures).  It's my hope that this will restore her happiness alittle and open her eyes to the goodness the world has to offer.  

No amount of thanks can ever repay the kindness this would show.  I was hoping to have this available for her by Christmas so that she may have a good holiday after so much misfortune.
