Charlotte Savill - Fibrolameller Fundraiser

Fibrolamellar Hepatocellular Carcinoma is a rare, aggressive form of liver cancer that primarily affects adolescents and young adults, typically between 13 and 25, without underlying liver conditions. Occurring in about one in five million people, fibrolamellar is difficult to detect and treat, as standard therapies like chemotherapy and immunotherapy are largely ineffective. Surgery is often the only option, but recurrence is common, and there is no known cure.

At 21, Charlotte was diagnosed with Fibrolamellar. Despite the shock of her diagnosis, Charlotte faced every challenge with incredible strength and resilience. She underwent multiple surgeries and treatments, always with a brave heart and unwavering hope. Charlotte’s determination to fight for her life inspired everyone around her. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy lives on, driving us to find a cure for this rare disease.

Due to its rarity, research is severely underfunded. Scientists like Dr. Sandy Simon, whose daughter was diagnosed in 2008, are working to understand the disease and develop treatments, but more support is needed to advance a cure. In her honour, we continue the fight, raising awareness and funds for research, so that one day, no family has to endure this same heartbreak.
