Save the Brewery - Blackbird

In mid-August we got a visit from the Gwinnett County Health Department saying we need to shut down until we receive a health department permit. We were floored to say the least. They said we needed this 2 1/2 years ago to operate which at that time we could of spent money and time to get this permit before we opened but the fact that they are choosing to enforce this now is ridiculous and has left us no choice but to close our business. If we can’t operate then we are dead in the water. This is where Go Fund Me comes into play. We need your help to save the brewery! If you love beer or love small business then please consider helping.
We didn’t open a brewery in Lilburn to get rich. We simply wanted to provide a community spot to laugh and have fun and hopefully support our family in the process. We made some mistakes for sure. It took every penny we had to open the doors which left us with no money for marketing, distribution, special events or permit shut downs. Unfortunately, we are simply out of money. We will be closing the brewery doors for good unless we raise these funds. It’s very sad for our family and investors. We hosted some amazing weddings, birthday parties, sweet baby showers and made some great beer! The permit we need from the Gwinnett co Health department is definitely the straw that broke the camels back. If we can save the brewery then we will throw one awesome Go Fund Me party down the road.
