Cindy’s Fight

As many readers here may know, our family has endured many tragedies over the years. Unfortunately, my sister Cindy Perkins is now in need of your support. As I write this, she is in ICU after unexpected complications from heart surgery. On July 21st, 2023, Cindy had her third and most invasive heart surgery to repair her aorta. Unfortunately, what was anticipated to be a 4 to 6 hour surgery lasted 12 hours as a result of complications, and she still remains in ICU fighting for her life. She’s had many set backs.

 

Cindy leaves an impression on everyone she meets. She has a generous heart and cares about everyone she meets. She is a mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, pet lover, and friend to so many. Cindy is also a widow, as her husband passed away 8 years ago. Cindy is the glue that brings her family together in celebrating, mourning, and getting together as families do, and we admire how she always takes care of herself and those around her. In this moment, we collectively are reciprocating that care.

 

There are a lot of unknowns right now -- we don't know how long she will be in the hospital, and we don't know how long her recovery process will be, but we do know that Cindy really needs your help. Because Cindy is financially dependent on her own income, your support will help her with medical bills and weather her loss of income in the coming months during her recovery. Our family will post details and updates as we learn more.
