JMU Club Ice Hockey 2015-2016

The Ice Hockey Club at James Madison University is a competitive, fun, student-run and student-funded organization that strives to provide the best college hockey experience to our players. Since the team was founded in 2008, the team has won two, back to back Blue Ridge Hockey Conference Championships, in the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons. The 2015-2016 season is a big year for the JMU ice hockey team, as we will be playing our inaugural season in the Atlantic Coast Collegiate Hockey League. This was a very big accomplishment, as it would move us from Division III up to Division II within the American Collegiate Hockey Association. With the move up to the ACCHL, we have larger expenses than before, specifically with league fees, traveling, and rising ice costs. In order for the team to be financially stable, each player has to pay between $1,000-$1,200  for a season. To help dwindle costs, the JMU Department of Transportation and UREC allows us to rent vans. As this does help significantly, we still practice sixty miles away in Charlottesville and play approximately twenty games a season, two-thirds of which are away. We also will be playing in a season-kickoff tournament, which takes place in North Carolina. We need your help. Any donation is one that can help the JMU Ice Hockey team be competitive this year and beyond. Financial stability will greatly aid our yearly goal of making a deep playoff run, and a potential shot at a regional birth.
