Support Jake's Fight Against Sarcoma

UPDATE 11/15/2023:

We are absolutely blown away by the outpouring of support for Jake and Sarah. Our original goal of $5,000 was met in under 10 days and we cannot thank you all enough for your donations and support in meeting that initial goal. As information on Jake’s treatment plan has changed, so has the need for additional funds for housing, travel and medical as one can imagine. With that said, we have decided to increase our goal to $10,000. Sarah is Jake’s rock and while he is undergoing these treatments, we don’t want her to have to think about anything other than him. We want to make sure she’s taken care of as well and this new fundraising goal will allow us to achieve that mission.

ORIGINAL POST 11/4/2023:

On October 15, Jake went to the ER with chest pain and he was having trouble breathing. After further testing including a CT scan of his torso, Jake and his mom, Sarah received the news that no one wants to hear. You have cancer! The diagnosis of cancer in a seemingly superhuman, completely healthy, 20-year-old on the eve of his 21st birthday was unimaginable.

The diagnosis is Ewing's Sarcoma. They have met with the doctors at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville and He will be receiving care at UK in Lexington so he will be close to home. His treatments will be every three weeks and will last 8-10 months. After that, he may receive radiation to target any areas that remain.

With the length of Jake's treatment and the distance between Kentucky and Missouri, Sarah will be doing a lot of traveling back and forth to spend as much time with Jake as possible. Any amount of help we can give them to make this time as easy as possible by providing funds for housing, food and any medical costs is our goal!
