Joan and John

On Monday evening, May 20th, Joan Kovar and John Laidley were traveling home from a six day motorcycling adventure in the Appalachian Mountains and were only minutes from home when they came around a corner covered in deep gravel.  The front end washed out and although John tried to save it, the gravel was too deep and they went down. John was roughed up but basically okay. Joan didn’t fare as well and was rushed to the trauma center at Paoli Memorial Hospital where it was determined that she had multiple bone fractures.

Joan was released on Thursday to Moss Rehab at the Doylestown Hospital where she is now undergoing several days of physical therapy. Joan is expected to have a full recovery but it may be some time before she can return to work.

Things would have been much worse had they not been wearing full riding gear but there will be medical bills, copayments, insurance deductibles and additional costs that they will have to pay.
