Joan Hawkins

Hi, my name is Sheila. I have been friends with Joan for almost 20 years. She is one of the strongest, bravest, and most selfless people I have ever known. She is also one of the most stubborn and hard headed people I’ve ever known.

Two days ago she was a diagnosed with a type of brain tumor called a meningioma. This tumor is rapidly growing and her symptoms are worsening each day. Joan is scheduled to have the tumor removed this week and she will have to be off work for approximately 12 weeks.

The Neuro surgeon anticipates surgery to be very successful but she needs time to heal and recover. While she does have some sick time, it is not enough to cover all the time she will need to be off.
