Joan Hudak Memorial Scholarship for Kids Kamp
Joan Hudak, mother of Camp Director Scott, was known as the “Grandmother of the SportsCenter.” Her warm personality and strong spirit was unparalleled. Joan was often seen driving up to the Rinks with a special delivery of her famous homemade chocolate chunk cookies for the staff. She had a true love for baking and sharing her treats with others.
During the Kids Kamp Halloween event, Joan was front and center to hand out candy and enjoy seeing all the kids dressed up in costume.
On April 1, 2021, Joan passed away; she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. In honor of Joan and her love for children, her SportsCenter family has created the Joan Hudak Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship will be used to provide a free Kids Kamp session weekly to a deserving family. Through this scholarship, Joan’s legacy will live on forever in our hearts and the hearts of those she continues to help.
