Joan McCollum Memorial Fund

Donation protected
It is with great sadness that I write this, Tommy McCollum has been a friend and co-worker of 14 years now. Last week, Tommy lost his wife and best friend of 30 years, Joan McCollum.

Joan passed unexpectedly Thursday, April 9, 2020. Joan meant the world to Tommy, as well as Jennifer, her daughter, Avery and Sadie her two grandchildren.

Due to COVID-19 and all the restrictions, there has been no funeral arrangements made and the family is unsure when they might be. As all of the COVID-19 gets passed us, there will be more details, and I'll be sure to let those of you know. For Tommy and Jennifer's close friends and family, you can check on Facebook for updates.

As this is a very trying time for Tommy and his family, I would like to ask everyone to keep Tommy and his family in your prayers. I wanted to put this together to try and help Tommy and his family in lieu of sending flowers or meals.

I would like to ask each of you for a small donation to the Joan McCollum Memorial Fund. This will go a long way in helping Tommy and his family in these trying times.

I would like to share one of my fondest memories of Joan.

As most of you were aware Joan loved to bake, and most of us had the opportunity to enjoy her creations. Tommy would always send me photos of what she had made, mostly Joan's Snickerdoodles and Coconut Cake.

I remember several years past, Joan and I had a "Snickerdoodle Throw Down", she baked hers and I baked mine. Tommy brought them to the office, and we let everyone judge them. We'll I make a darn good soft and chewy Snickerdoodle, but it wasn't good enough to top Joan's, now Famous Snickerdoodles.

Every time she would make them Tommy would bring some to the office and remind me Joan was the Snickerdoodle Champ, and that she was.

Thanks, Joan, for the fond memories and the awesome cake, cookies, and Christmas candied pecans. You will surely be missed by many; heaven has gained a True Angle.

In Loving Memory of Mrs. Joan McCollum
