Joan's Cancer Story

Our dear friend and co-worker Joan Boro is 55 years old and was diagnosed with small cell carcinoma in July of this year.  She began chemotherapy in July which will continue for 3 months.  

For those of you who know Joan, you know that she is an extraordinary human being.  

Joan has been working for Libertyville High School for 6 years after spending 22 years in telecommunications. She also volunteers for a dog rescue fostering dogs and giving so much of her time helping dogs find their furever home. 

As Joan continues to work, there will be days that she will not be able to come in due to chemo and side effects.  Some of her medical expenses are not covered and with the everyday necessities of life, money is tight. She continues to have a smile on her face every day and remains incredibly positive and strong!
