Joann Drelling's Battle with Cancer

***Updated GoFundMe request due to escalating medical costs
Temporary financial help is being asked by my mother until she can become eligible for MediCare in September. While the treatments have been working and she is still fighting the battle isn't over yet. She was let go by her employer in December of 2017 and with changes in the Medicaid program as of January of this year it now costs her $300/ month. With living expenses, medical costs and a $7000 chemo bill all without a good source of income she has become overwhelmed to say the least Any help is greatly appreciated.***
Joann's story: On January 5th 2016, my mom went to the ER for a severe headache and memory issues. Earlier that morning she had been at Walgreens and was unable to remember how to get home or back to work- it was a 10 minute drive that she has made thousands of times over the last 15 years.
At the ER she was told that she had developed lung cancer and a tumor had metastasized in her brain.
She had a craniotomy to remove the brain tumor on Friday January 8th and was sent home on the 10th to recover while we await the results of the biopsy and decide how best to treat the lung cancer and what type of radiation (localized to the tumor site or full brain) to choose to ensure no further growth of tumors on her brain.
All donations will be used towards medications and basic living expenses to ease the burden when she misses time at work.
Besides her 5 children, she has 7 grandchildren who need her to get better to cheer at their sporting events and to invite them over for group sleepovers simply because she enjoys having them near her.
If you can donate it would mean the world to my family. If you are unable to donate we completely understand and just ask that you share this link in hopes that maybe someone you know is able to help. Prayers can always help as well!
