Help Joanna fund her transition surgeries
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Joanna (she/her), and I'm a 35-year-old trans woman living in the UK. I started transitioning in 2021, beginning hormone replacement therapy in April of that year, but my face is by far my biggest source of gender dysphoria and an impediment to feeling like my true self.
In spite of demonstrating immense improvements in quality of life for trans fem people such as myself, Facial Feminization surgery (FFS) is not usually funded by the National Health Service (NHS) or covered by private health insurance in the UK.
As a result, I have decided that my best hope of funding such a procedure is to request donations from extremely generous people such as yourselves.
Given the current increases in inflation and the cost of living, I have not yet obtained a quote from an FFS surgeon as I anticipate that it will increase substantially by the time I reach my goal. But for now I have decided to set the target for £15,000 based on preliminary research and costs given by previous patients.
