Joanna Walters Breast Cancer Fund

On Tuesday, June 7th Joanna went to a routine Midwife appointment at 20 weeks pregnant. She had been having some pain in her breast but naturally assumed it was due to the typical breast changes that occur during pregnancy. Her midwife had her get it checked out just in case, and by June 9th she was given the diagnosis of invasive breast cancer. Testing is still under way but her doctors have already started scheduling a treatment plan which will include chemotherapy, surgery, and most likely radiation after the baby is born. 

 How you can help: 

 Sam and Joanna have been overwhelmed by the many family and friends who desire to help in some way. Right now their biggest need is PRAYER. Please pray for healing, for wisdom, and strength as they start this long and difficult journey. Another way you can help is by supporting them financially. On top of the inevitable medical expenses, their desire is for Sam to be able to take any time off needed throughout this journey to support his family without having to worry about meeting their monthly expenses. Donations on this page will go toward medical and household expenses, and enabling Sam to be home with Joanna and their 3 boys, and baby girl due in October. 

 Due to the ongoing development of things we ask that you give Sam and Joanna the much needed space to navigate through this situation as they are receiving new information daily. Please refrain from calling or texting, and use this page to stay informed as we will be posting any updates that may arise. Sam and Joanna are not on Social Media, but are able to see any posts or kind words left on this page. 

 Though this is an inexplicably hard time for their family, Sam and Joanna know that they are loved and supported by their family and friends far and wide, and by a God who is bigger than any diagnosis.
