Joanna Beagle's Recovery Fund
Donation protected
This campaign is to fund the costs of Joanna Beagle's injuries, help her and her family recover, and move forward in life regarding college and day to day life. Joanna Beagle was part of a tragic incident that took place October 2nd in Nokomis. She is the sole survivor of a double homicide suicide. She was left with several wounds on her body, including a gunshot wound in her radius and now suffers from PTSD from the incident. She lost her mother and older brother, a Venice High School alumnus, Matthew. She now faces the daunting task of going through life without her brother and her mother, and is staying with her father and step mother in North Port. She is intelligent and kind, and her goal beyond high school is to attend the Ringling College of Art and Design . As a senior, she is active in the Venice High Marine Corps JROTC. She is a hard worker and someone who always strives to do her best. Her father took time off from work to care for her, and the money donated would help Joanna pursue her endeavors to go to college and help her and her family return to everyday life.
The creater of this campaign is Jessica Gonzalez, the Student Body President of Venice High School. As a community, VHS wants to support our fellow student through this difficult time. The use of the funds in this campaign have shifted slightly since it was first started. Originally, the funds were going to be used solely to cover medical bills, but insurance has covered the majority of the costs. Now, the funds will help Joanna and her family regarding medical costs, financial aid for Joanna's college, and the costs for day to day life. These funds will specifically help cover bills and doctor's appointments that have been difficult for Joanna's father to cover as he has been out of work in order to care for her. Part of the funds will also be put into a bank account for Joanna. These funds will be managed by Joanna's step mother and father to supply Joanna and her family with the funds.
Please help in anyway that you can.
