Dear Friends,
I had a pastor once say "If God has called you to a dirty, stinky, miserable place, you will be miserable until you get there." When I first heard him say that I sobbed uncontrollably. You see, it has been my dream for years to go on a mission trip to Uganda. If you talk to my husband, he’ll be the first to tell you that’s all I talk about.
For those who don’t know me; I am 58 years old, married 29 years, and a mom to two grown children. Before I became a wife and mother, I fixed fighter planes for the US Air Force. In my ten career from 1982 to 1992, I visited many countries, several of them third world.
When I was stationed the United Kingdom, 30 years ago, just a few days after the wall between East and West Germany fell, I made a decision to follow a real and living God. And HE has not failed me yet. I believe He has called me to help the people of Uganda. Why Uganda? Because I have seen their faces when I pray.
So, I decided to join a team led by a man named John Gross who has made numerous mission trips to Uganda over the years. John has vast experience dealing with all the challenges Africa has to offer. And I am humbled that he has allowed me to join his team.
So now I am faced with my greatest challenge - humbling myself to ask others for financial support to make this trip to Uganda. If you cannot support me with your finances, I covet your prayers.
Blessings,
Joanne Hampson
