On march 4th, my grandmother was rushed to the hospital in Ocala after she suffered a massive stroke and her body put itself in coma. Right away the doctors did a procedure and said it was a 50/50 chance and if we didn’t take the chance she had 0 percent chance of making it. They put her in neuro icu. The family gathered and had hope and we prayed for a recovery even though the doctor didn’t think she would make it. She ended up getting some reflexes back such as gagging and coughing. The little things matter so much to us! But the movement was involuntary. We surrounded her with love and took in the bad news. The back of her brain was severely damaged. The part that controls her sleeping was damaged.. today is day 5 03/09, and she has stopped gagging and coughing isn’t reacting to any pain at all… they have been giving her medicine to keep her blood pressure down. But today they are giving her medicine to keep her blood pressure up and stable as we are preparing for the worst. our family is gathering to make the hardest decision we have ever faced. She was such a kind, and loving women. Who loved us all so dearly.. this shatters my heart to write.. we are asking donations to cover her cremation. and some help to get to New York where she would want to be and gather with the family up there and have a memorial. my beloved grandmother I adore you. for your strength and the love you gave into this world. the impact you made in all of our lives will never be forgotten. Thank you for the unconditional love and being the mother I never had. ❤️ all donations are appreciated.
