Joanne Masciocchi’s Miracle Team
Hi! We are Alicia and Lauren. Our beloved friend and second mommy, Joanne Masciocchi “Ma” was admitted to the hospital on April 13th 2021 and has spent the last almost 100 days battling Covid-19 non stop. She's faced a complicated medical stay in 3 different hospitals along with a recent transfer to an acute care facility - spent 71 days in the ICU where she was intubated and placed on a ventilator, underwent a tracheostomy, chest tubes placed for collapsed lungs, dialysis and endless rounds of medication due to COVID related sepsis, lung disease, and renal failure. In addition, after being in a medically induced coma for over 50 days, she will now begin ventilator weening therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy. She continues to fight these and new battles every day with her two beautiful daughters, Danielle & Alana, husband Art, and family and friends behind her!! If you know Joanne personally you know she would give you the shirt off her back at the drop of a hat. Not only has she volunteered for years as a Girl Scout leader for her own girls and many others, but she also served on the Winslow school board for years, and spent many years working with children in the preschool setting before retiring to take care of her own sick mother. Joanne adores children and loves them all like her own! She is one of those people that welcomes you with opens arms no matter if she’s known you for years or only a few minutes. She leaves an impression on everyone that she meets. Her sense of humor is a continual bubble of joy to all around her. She is an energetic, wild, funny, bruno mars loving, "fricka fricka" feisty Italian that (in true Joanne fashion) has not stopped fighting for herself or her family day in and day out.
We would love to THANK everyone for the support and ask that you please continue to send constant prayers, love, and positive vibes for our warrior, Joanne.
It is our hope to help relieve her family of financial burdens and worries at this very difficult time so they can focus on being with Joanne as she continues to fight the fiercest battle of her life and prove that miracles do happen. <3
