Joaquin's First School Shooting to TX Politicians

We are raising funds to be able to send a copy of a children's book, Joaquin's First School Shooting, to all Texas politicians. Written by Patricia Padauy-Oliver, who lost her son Joaquin in the Parkland shooting, this is a children’s book to explain gun violence to childish politicians.

We've all seen the inaction and downright cruelty many of our Texas politicians have shown when it comes to mass shootings and the lives of our children. That's why we want to send every single one of our state senators and house representatives a copy of this book.

In it, Patricia tells the tragic story of Joaquin “Guac” Oliver. Joaquin was one of 14 students killed in a high school mass shooting in Parkland, Florida. Instead of finger holes to help kids turn the page, bullet holes bore through the entire book, representing the same bullets that cut short innocent lives.

We'd like to get a copy of this book to every state and house representative but for starters we have created a top 11 list, targeting politicians who have had mass shootings in their districts to show them we are watching. Each book is a total of $34 to get into the hands of our politicians but any donation is appreciated.

From our top 11, we have a top 20 and top 30 list, targeting luke-warm Democrats who haven't always had the best gun sense voting record and Republican politicians who may have voted with gun sense measures or shown promise of (possibly) leaning toward gun sense. If we hit those goals, we'll keep going down the list until every state and house representative has a copy.
