Dear Friends, Family, and Beloved Community,

We gather together to pay tribute to a man who was not just a great man, Father, husband, Godfather, spiritual leader, but also a beacon of light in our lives. Pastor Jocelyn Donjoie Sr. devoted numerous years to selflessly serving the Haitian community, offering solace, comfort and strength through his unwavering love and compassion of the Lord.

As we mourn his loss, we are faced with the solemn responsibility of ensuring Pastor Donjoie receives the dignified farewell he so rightly deserves. To make this possible, we humbly reach out to you, our cherished friends, family and community, for support in covering the expenses associated with his final expenses and memorial services. Whatever support you can offer would be eternally appreciated.

Jocelyn Donjoie Sr., was born on May 01, 1939 to parents Siliana Donjoie and Safet Donjoie in Port De Paix Haiti.

At 9 years old his father Safet passed away unexpectedly and Jocelyn had to become an adult much sooner than he became legally considered one. He found work after learning the trade of a carpenter, but jobs were not easy to come by, therefore he took to the high seas, en route to the Bahamas for work opportunities.

In the Bahamas he was able to find work but was unsatisfied with the pay, which is what prompted him to take another journey to Brooklyn, New York in the early 1970s where he would study for a career in HVAC Heating & Cooling, and also is also the place where he met his first wife, Sainta St. Surin.

The couple fell in love, got married and would have 3 children together (Jocelyn Jr, Murphy, and Kevin), and Jocelyn also became the father of a fourth child (Dorlins) that Sainta had from a previous relationship.

Jocelyn later became a servant of the Lord and then a Pastor, after a lifetime of maintaining sobriety, which he accomplished with great pride until his recent passing. He was a faithful servant of the Lord, going into the ministry with lifelong friends, and eventually led a congregation of his own. After a long and faithful marriage, the couple were separated by Sainta's untimely death.

In 2006 Jocelyn married Jaencille Eloi, after falling in love a second time. God placed In Jaencille in Jocelyn's life, and she became a wonderful loving lifelong companion who would provide the love & support Jocelyn needed. We offer our sincerest condolences & prayers to Jaencille and all her children (Wandeline, Keisha, and Mac) and also all of Pastor Donjoie's children during this trying time.
