Jocelyn Ramirez mom of 3 passed away suddenly

Donation protected

Jocelyn Ramirez, mother of three, Paula 14, Giovani 11 and the youngest Dahila 6 months old has suddenly died of a heart attack. She passed away on June 15th, 2020 from complications. Joci, as her family and friends who loved her called her, went to sleep on Saturday night and never regained consciousness. Doctors and first responders tried  in vain to resuscitate her but she had no brain activity. Her family  stood by her side praying hoping she would regain consciousness. The next day they realized it was time to let her go. Unfortunately because if COVID-19, her family was not allowed to be by her side when she passed.  Her children are now left without a mother.  Her mother, relatives and friends are in a state of shock and are still processing this tragic news.  So many people will miss her.

Jocelyn lived in Jackson Heights and attended IS 145, Newtown HS and LaGuardia CommunityCollege.   Everyone who knew her knew she was one of a kind. She was selfless, loyal, protective, daring, wild, funny and spirited.  She never said no to anyone who needed help.  Joci was always there for others.  She would give you her last dollar if you needed it.  She was the lioness of the group; nurturing, loving and in a defensive mode if she felt you were in danger. Many were intimidated by her tough outer shell but she also had a sensitive side. Joci was a unique soul. One could  describe her as beautiful, athletic, a dare devil, bold and independent. It’s sad to think about all the mom things she will miss. Joci will miss Paula’s graduation, Gio’s first day of junior high school and Dahila’s first steps among many other important events.

Jocelyn made it her mission to care for her mom once her dad passed away a few years ago. She would joked that she treated her mom as if she was her boyfriend. She followed her father’s traditions on holidays and her mother’s birthday. She always wanted to make up for the fact that her dad was missing on those special days. That’s the kind of daughter she was.

Today her mom and family are mourning her death while helping her children though this tragedy.  Let’s all say a prayer for her and her family at this trying time. And let’s help Joci’s mother and children  by making a donation to her GoFundMe account.  Jocelyn’s mother is left alone with the task of providing and raising her three grandchildren.  Let’s show Joci we are here for her by being here for her children and mother Adela.
