Jodi Cohen Perry

Hi, my name is Nicole, and I am fundraising for Jodi Cohen Perry. As many of you know, the last few years have not been easy for Jodi. After the discovery of a brain tumor in 2019 and its removal, Jodi has been left to pick up the "medical pieces." Unfortunately, the tumor was too large to remove in completion and continues to wreak havoc on her body.

As a result of the removal of a very large tumor, Jodi lost 100% of her balance and hearing on her left side and suffered partial facial paralysis. Since her tumor, she has had to undergo 10 surgeries and several therapies to help improve her medical outcomes.

The facial paralysis has caused significant issues with her eye closure and nerve function. Jodi has just received the news that she will need to undergo the 11th surgery at the beginning of November.

Jodi had to stop working a few months ago due to the medical difficulties she has faced and the time she must commit to doctor appointments, therapies, treatments and recovery. The medical costs have been substantial, and unfortunately, insurance does not cover certain procedures.

For her surgery in November, Jodi will have to fly to LA to the Facial Paralysis Institute for over 10 days to see a doctor who is a pioneer in Facial Paralysis. I am appealing to our community to help support Jodi during this challenging recovery period. Insurance is ONLY covering the anesthesia, NOT the surgery itself. There is also air fair, hotel accommodations, food, etc.

Jodi has been an advocate for many years in her career as an educator and is always there to help support others in her community. Let's step up to help her in this time of need for another unexpected surgery and recovery. Jodi has never asked for help, but I know she needs support. ANY donation is greatly appreciated.
