Jodi O'Flaherty Cancer Fundraiser

Hi! My name is Taylor Reynolds and along with my sister, Abby Wettstein, we are Jodi O'Flaherty's daughters. Our mom, Jodi, was diagnosed in April of this year with stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to her liver and lymph nodes. She is currently undergoing aggressive chemotherapy treatment in hopes of treating her cancer while still trying to work part time as she can since our stepdad, Mike, is retired.

She has an oncologist at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri (where she is receiving treatment) and an oncology specialist in Houston, Texas, at MD Anderson. If it were not for the doctors at MD Anderson, she would not be undergoing the current course of treatment she is currently receiving.

Our mom travels to Springfield, Missouri, to undergo treatment once every two weeks and additional days per week for other infusions. She is also required to travel to Houston, Texas, after every four treatments for specialized and more accurate scans/tests to track her aggressive cancer.

With our mom needing to travel so often to Houston, it can be costly with her and Mike to fly there and back, stay in a hotel, and rent a car in order to stay for multiple days to undergo the scans/tests that are required of our mom. Also, with that being said, we know the cancer treatment she is going through is incredibly expensive, and insurance does not cover all the costs.

This leads us to why we are starting this Gofundme. Our mom is not one to ask for help and especailly at this time in her life. However, we know how costly her treatment is and with her need to travel so often, the expenses are starting to build up.

We know any donations/help would be greatly appreciated for her and it would lift the large financial burden cancer has and will continue to put on our parents in the future.
