Jodi Vasquez and her Fight with Cancer

Hello friends.

 

I have started a GO FUND ME page on behalf of a beloved friend, Jodi Vasquez. Jodi and I met 12 years ago when we were both property managers and have been friends since. We have both moved on to other careers, however, continue to stay active in the industry we love! While a manager, Jodi was an active CAI member. During the 10 years of membership she served on the Social Committee a majority of the time.

 

As some of you may know she had COVID pneumonia last fall and was hospitalized for a week. She had a long recovery afterward and was not able to work for quite a while. During that time, she found out that she had uterine cancer. Her doctor’s visits had to be postponed, as did her surgery due to her recovery time after her hospital stay. She had surgery in early December 2021, and the surgery went well. The surgeon thought she got all of the cancer, but it was a different story when the pathology report came back. Right before Christmas Jodi learned that it had spread to one of her lymph nodes. She went from stage 0 to stage 3. The recommended treatment was chemotherapy and radiation. Jodi began treatment in February 2022 after searching for months for an oncologist she was comfortable with and found a wonderful one in Alpharetta.

 

Out of pocket expenses for Jodi and her husband over the last 8 months have been in excess of $100k! They have been through a lot, not just financially but also emotionally.
