Jodie Reams’ Memorial Service

Hi, my name is Caitlin Reams, and I am one of the two daughters of Jodie Reams. My mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer this past month. Jodie is a 62-year-old mother of two. She has done nothing but put others before herself; she has the biggest heart and loves doing whatever she can for others. Jodie also loves spending time with her family and fur babies. She is an active member of her Greek Orthodox church's women's club, which regularly organizes community outreach projects.

Because of her diagnosis, she cannot work, and my father is struggling to work due to having to be home to take care of her. I am a full-time student at The University of Central Florida with a part-time job, and my older sister works full-time but does not make nearly enough to support our family or cover treatment costs.

On top of struggling with treatment costs, we struggle financially to pay bills, buy groceries, and pay for other necessities due to our lack of income. My parents have taken care of my sister and me our whole lives. It is time we do what we can to take care of them. I see how much stress the money issue is causing my parents and especially my mother.

The only thing she needs to worry about is getting better and fighting her cancer. She needs to be here for our family as long as possible; we cannot function without her.
