Jody Miehl

Hi my name is Carol Blea and my husband is Phillip Blea. We have been long time friends of the Miehl’s since they moved across the country from Pennsylvania. With the support of Nick Miehl and his children we have created this account to support them in this time of tragedy. Yesterday Jody was in a vehicular accident with her daughter. Her daughter survived and incurred some injuries and is at home with her Dad and sibling now. Jody passed away at the scene of the accident.

Nick shared the following with Phillip and I:

We moved from PA to OR in 2012 really for my job, but also as a new adventure. Jody was a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania (undergraduate), and the University of Kentucky (graduate). A VERY proud Wildcat!  Swim mom extraordinaire- volunteering to time and cheer on kids as only she could. Her first job in OR was as a Wrap Specialist with Marion County, and most recently as a therapist and member of the Mental Health and Wellness Team at Corvallis School District.

Love of watching her kids in sports.

Support request: I think we are open to anything, honestly. The first thing we’ll be doing is travel, likely to PA. Then, it’s just seeing what comes. With such an amazing community of friends here (our west coast family) I definitely want to hold a celebration of life.
