Fundraiser for Jody & Debora Janis

One of my best friends from grade school — and a friend for over 35 years — has been severely impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Jody Janis, his wife Debora, and their dog Eleanor escaped rising flood waters in their home and neighborhood using a neighbor’s kayaks. They were then picked up by a cargo truck and taken to a shelter. They have now begun the long road to cleaning out their home and resetting their lives.

While FEMA will assist in fixing the damage caused by flood waters, their property sustained additional damage that does not meet their insurance deductible. They will have both day-to-day and long-term expenses that go beyond their insurance payments.

I am establishing a monetary fund for them to use at their discretion as they work to clear, clean, and restore their home. Jody and Debora are people of great faith and kindness, living modest and humble lives.

If you know Jody and Debora, you already know how ready and willing they are to help those in need. I am now asking for your help in providing some immediate financial relief for them as they work to recover from Harvey. Any amount is welcome and greatly appreciated.


FYI for fraud prevention: I am a long-time friend of Jody's wanting to help. We will use the beneficiary link for Jody and Debora to withdraw their donated funds directly. They can then use these funds to restore their home and for any items they need for daily living.
