Joe Brittenham's Recovery Fundraiser

Hey everyone I'm Mikaela Nichols and I am putting together this fundraiser for my friend Joe Brittenham who got in a bad wreck at the races on Saturday. I've known Joe for about 12 years and he's always been a great friend with amazing sportsmanship. I'm raising money for him and his family to be able to pay for his medical bills while he's out of work.

If anyone has some extra funds to give to help this downed rider it would be greatly appreciated by the family, Joe and myself! We thank every single one of you who are willing to help and be there for him. It means the world. Lots of love to you all!

Here's the details of his crash:

Joe had a very bad crash at the races Saturday night. He hit a downed rider’s bike, and he was sent flying over the wall and into the chain link fence beyond that, before he hit the ground.

He shattered his L5 vertebra, and fractured the S1 and S2. There was extensive nerve damage in his spine. He had spinal surgery early Sunday morning.

He also has 3 broken ribs, a small brain bleed, and a bruised liver.

He has feeling and movement in his legs, and the docs expect a full recovery, but it’s going to be a long road. Lots of new hardware in his back. He’s in a lot of pain still, but he’s being well taken care of. PT will try to get him on his feet later today, but probably won’t be much walking if any.
