Support JOE CARR's fight against Colon Cancer

It’s Joe Ritchie and Tom Rosen fundraising for our amazing friend Joe Carr. Joe and his wife Christen’s world turned upside down this June after Christen drove Joe to the ER with severe abdominal pain. A day later, at the age of 34, Joe was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. His surgeons immediately performed a colectomy, put in a port for chemo, and set a treatment plan for the cancer which has spread to his liver. His current treatment plan is to recover from his initial surgery, begin chemotherapy, and then aggressively attack the spread through targeted surgery.

And that’s where you come in. Like so many in the food service industry, Joe is uninsured. The costs for the initial surgery, the continued chemo, and future surgeries will be expensive, the “what the hell is wrong with America and our health care system” kind of expensive. He can’t beat this thing without you and your generosity.

Despite it all, Joe’s spirits remain positive and optimistic. Anyone who has had the privilege of getting to know Joe, you know. He’s the best of us: compassionate, understanding, hilarious, goofy, kind, considerate, hospitable, the best of husbands (and sons, and brothers, and dog dads). The type of person that will always lend his support and attention to you in a time of need; he'll make you feel like the most important and cared-for person in the world, no matter what he's dealing with in his own life. And now he needs us to channel our own inner-Joe Carr.
