Joe Cummins Pancreatic Cancer Fund

It all started about a week before Christmas, stomach ache, gas and bloating. It wouldn't go away. Joe went to Urgent Care and nothing was found. He went to the Emergency Room; at that time symptoms were just not extreme enough to warrant them keeping him, so they sent him home with Tylenol and told him to make an appt. with his primary doctor. In early January he called his primary Dr. and gave a urine sample which came back as normal. After numerous visits and tests including a Cat scan, and an MRI, Joe found out it was Pancreatic cancer and maybe even liver cancer as well.  Joe is a great guy with a wonderful family,and an all around good person that you would love to know.  He has been a hard worker all of his life and he deserves a chance; he may actually have it.  If all goes well with his latest scan (P.E.T. Scan) he will qualify for a "Whipple" surgery with a specialist at Tulane.  His primary physician suspects that he is a stage 1b and would be a good candidate for the Whipple surgery, however the surgery is very expensive.  Joe does have insurance through the ACA, however the deductible is going to be $6500 and with all the other medical expenses that he has already incurred this is just out of his reach. If anyone who reads Joe's story could find it in their heart to help Joe out it would mean the world to his family and friends.  If you knew Joe, you would know that  he would do the same for anyone else if he could.  Please consider a monetary gift that could actually mean the gift of life to Joe and his family.
