Joe Fournier's fund to relocate A&C Grocery
Hey friends, it is me, Joe Fournier
I spent the formative years of my childhood here on Munjoy Hill. I don’t live here anymore but I still spend plenty of time back here. In my 40 plus years I’ve always gravitated back here. So yes, it was absolutely heart breaking to hear the news that after slugging it out, financially, emotionally and physically, literal blood, sweat and tears, for almost five years, 3 years of road work followed by a pandemic, and then finally getting this thing to work, to be viable, to thrive as A&C has since before the lock down, I gotta start it all over again.
My lease at the Top of Fox will not be renewed. What does this mean? It means I gotta move this jalopy to a new location. However, again, as you all may know, A&C has weathered a biblical level of calamity since the day it opened back in February 2017. If it wasn't for you guys, I wouldn't be here now. And now I need some more of your help as we begin the next chapter of this journey. The good news is I have secured a new home for A&C.
And I’m very happy we’re staying in the neighborhood. With the addition of a full lunch counter and the usual roster of food, plus a few surprises, PART II will pick up where the Top of Fox left off, reinforcing the A&C motto, “OUR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE CUSTOMER.”
My vision for A&C has always been a community-based, swashbuckling-owned, neighborhood joint that would benefit the coterie of locals. While the Top of Fox is bustling and profitable, it cannot fund the opening of a new location with it's current cash flow alone. I am currently paying rent for PART II and there are still permitting and build-out costs I still have yet to tackle. I couldn't have done Top of Fox without you guys, and again, I can't do PART II without you either.
XOXO
Joe
