For the past six years, Joe had been battling pancreatic cancer. He looked at this challenge as any other in his life, and put all of his energy into beating it. He underwent chemotherapy in various forms, radiation, multiple surgeries, as well as immunotherapy clinical trials. Joe is an athlete who attained a physical condition strong enough to summit Mt. Adams, and compete on American Ninja Warrior in Los Angeles just weeks after surgery to remove a tumor from his lung. Joe used that and several other media opportunities to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer research.
Professionally, Joe was a scientist, and more specifically a chemist. He used this skill set in all areas of his life, always asking difficult questions and figuring out how things work.
We all know that the most important part of Joe's life was his family. Joe and Amy have four amazing daughters, Sarah, Sophia, Sabrina and Saige. Joe prided himself on being a provider for his family, and it was always his dream to make college affordable for his girls. Unfortunately, Joe had to stop working in October 2014 and their dreams to make this possible were cut short.
Thank you for all of your love and support.
