Hi.....
I'm trying to figure out what to say.... because none of this makes sense.
Joe always had my birthday wrong. He used to think it was on September 21st (a week before my actual birthday), so I was waiting for his erroneous birthday text this morning. And I already had my response ready to make fun of him because thats what we did. But there was no text from him when I woke up. Instead, I recieved the news that we lost him just a few hours prior. Although I don't believe any of this and I am still waiting for his text to come through, I will, for now start this GoFundMe. Because Joe was only 25. With two beautiful precious daughters, Leah and Aryana and a new bundle of joy on her way to meet us in November (I can't wait to tell her all the crazy stories about her daddy). While I pray for his partner Stephanie, his daughters, his parents, siblings and the rest of his family to find peace and lightness through this process, my immediate prayer is to ensure they dont have to worry about forthcoming funeral costs.
Joe was the hardest working person in the kitchen. He worked tirelessly to support his family and I was so proud to promote him to sous. He had the best attitude, making us all laugh even through the most difficult shifts. He was the guy that made sure everyone was good all the time. Now its our turn to make sure you're good and make sure that your family is going to be good. We all got you Joe.
You had the whole world ahead of you kid. But its okay, because we'll finish cooking what we started on the other side. Hold some ingredients for me until I get there.
I love you.
