Our beloved Jose Guillermo Lopez Jr. "Joe", 56, a longtime Austin business man, passed away on Wednesday, December 4, 2019.

Joe was born on December 14, 1962, in Austin, Texas. He was the son of Jose Guillermo Lopez Sr. and Concepcion (Santamarina) Lopez.  Joe attended school in the Austin school district graduating with the Crocket High School class of 1982.

After high school, Joe worked as a security guard for ACE Patrol and in 1990, started his own landscaping company, Lopez Lawn Care.  Joe spent the next 29 years owning and operating his company which grew to be Premium Landscape Services, serving Austin through 2019.

Joe was a MVP on the tennis court in high school and played on co-ed bowling leagues for many years as an adult. Joe was a loyal fan to his favorite football teams including the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. He also enjoyed attending San Antonio Spurs basketball games. Joe had a life-long love of the outdoors from landscaping during the week to camping, boating and fishing on the weekends. 

Joe suffered from many health issues as an adult and although he always fought with strength, the lord saw his suffering and unexpectedly called him home. 

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Concepcion Lopez and by his brother, Tony Lopez. 

Left to cherish his memories are his two children, Danielle Lopez  and Joey Lopez of Leander, Texas, his ex-wife Shawn (Dale) Hollaway of Leander, Texas, adored sister-in-law Leanne Lopez and nieces and nephews Joe John Lopez, Connie Lopez and Christina Lopez of Austin, Texas, treasured cousins Gloria Rocha of Austin, Texas, Mario (Maria) Rocha of Austin, Texas, Yvonne (Erick) Noack of Leander, Texas, Sandra (Craig) Mooney of Georgetown, Texas.  

To honor what would have been his 57th birthday, memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Cook-Walden Funeral Home.
