Joe/Coach Joe Prosthesis and Repair

Thank you for visiting this site to support Joe/Coach Joe and any additional costs for his prosthetic, repairs, and future prosthesis.
Joe is loved by so many -- family, friends, clients, student athletes, and colleagues. Whether you call him Joe or Coach Joe, there is no doubt your are inspired by him!
Unfortunately, Joe had a motorcycle accident in May 2016, shattering both of his ankles. This was the beginning of a whole new set of challenges for him. In an attempt to salvage his ability to walk independently and to reconstruct the shattered bones and tendons, doctors performed fourteen debridement and reconstructive surgeries over the course of seven months.
After months of intense pain, disheartening hope, and exhausting every possibility of improvement, the threat of sepsis became imminent, destroying any chance of saving his ankle and forcing him to amputate.
The perseverance and mental strength that Joe has demonstrated through this journey is unfathomable and serves as a real life testament to all of those who are blessed to have him in their lives. His determination and positive attitude are exemplary as he pushes himself and others to continuously be the very best version of themselves!
Sadly, his insurance will only cover a portion of the cost of his prosthetic, and he will need a new one in 6-8 months as his leg changes. His family and friends thought it would be a good idea to set up this page in order to help Joe cover the costs of his initial prosthetic, any repairs, and then future prosthesis as he transitions. Professional and local Dankmeyer Prosthetics will be putting special, super-human materials into his bionic leg to ensure it can take all that Joe plans to give it!
We are extremely proud of Joe and want him to have the best prosthesis possible so that they can match his physicality and give him the best outcome. Thank you for your generosity! TEAM JOE
