Joel and Lisa Hudson -
Meet The Hudsons. Joel, Lisa, and their 3 great kids!
In the past few weeks, 3 of their family members have been diagnosed with the Coronavirus. Joel and his mother were both hospitalized, leaving the entire family quarantined.
Both Joel and Lisa are currently unable to work. Lisa is a substitute teacher for the Marysville School District and Joel works for his church.
Please consider how you might help Joel and Lisa to meet their family’s basic needs during such a difficult time.

This is The Hudson’s experience, as written by Lisa.
About 3 weeks ago, at the beginning of March, my husband, Joel, started feeling sick. He didn't have the fever, cough, and respiratory issues that were portrayed as relating to the virus, but he was feeling tired and had body aches. After about two days of this, and asking me to take his temperature, he finally registered with a low fever and went into the hospital. We both doubted it was COVID-19 because he didn't have the right symptoms, but my husband is an asthmatic and gets sick easily, so we both thought he should go in. He went into the hospital on Monday night, March 2. On Wednesday, he got a positive confirmation of having COVID-19, and by this time he was also coughing and having respiratory issues. Then he developed pneumonia. After about 5 days, he started feeling better except for oxygen intake. Meanwhile, his mom and dad, 67 and 70 years old, respectively, who are living with us, were quarantined downstairs and started to feel sick as well. His mom, who has diabetes, calciphylaxis, and open wounds, had to go into the hospital, and she also tested positive while there. His dad tested positive, but instead of going to the hospital he isolated himself and cared for himself at home. For a few days they needed my help, and I cared for them, but now both of my husband's parents have recovered.
When my husband tested positive I was forced into quarantine with my family and could not work. While under quarantine the schools closed. As a substitute, I am not getting paid. My husband is finally home from the hospital, after 3 weeks, but he still needs oxygen at night, and just moving around leaves him winded and struggling to breathe. He also is unable to work. In addition, my daughter, a college student, was forced to come home and finish her classes online. Thankfully, neither she nor my two boys have shown any symptoms of the virus
