Joel Brady-power Medical and Beyond Fundraiser

Hi. My name is Pat Dixon, and I'm fundraising for Joel and Tele as they navigate the medical and extended life changes as a result of Joel's devastating snowboard accident last week. As Tele puts it:

Joel had a serious snowboarding accident on Monday. He made a solo trip up to Sun Peaks, Canada. On his eighth run of the first morning, he was coming down fast & hit an unexpected cat track. He launched, flew far, & came down HARD.

Knowing Joel as you do, you won't be surprised that he went AAAALLLL in on his injuries. Instead of blowing out one Achilles tendon, Cap’n J took out both, AND fractured a heel. He’s looking at two surgeries to reattach both tendons & screw his heel together, & a complicated recovery period, given that neither foot can be at all weight-bearing. He'll be wheelchair-bound for the next three months, before he can even start the long physical therapy road. He won't be fishing this summer.

I'm fundraising for them to raise funds for medical expenses beyond what insurance will cover, including any home care he may need, therapies, etc. as well as helping them afford to live through a season of not fishing, since Joel will be looking at as much as a year of potential rehab.
