Hi my names Jack,
Joel Bynon and I shared nearly 29 years of life together as best mates from birth; creating memories that I thought would last us a lifetime. On the morning of October 20, 2024, Joel was in a terrible motorcycle accident that started a series of events that changed his loved ones lives forever.
Joel faced severe injuries—breaking his hand and shattering all the bones in his left foot. This indicent left him with a long road of recovery and uncertainty about how his future would look. Mostly in regards to returning back to formwork, the job he was so passionate about. Aswell as his hobbies including surfing, riding his motor bike and taking his beloved dog Harved out for walks
That Sunday night, Joel underwent a lengthy surgery to reconstruct his foot, requiring plates, screws, and wires to piece it back together. In the days that followed, he was in as good of spirits as possible, facing the long road ahead with his usual courage and strength. We all believed Joel was on the path to recovery and we all felt so thankful that Joel didnt come out of the accident with life threatening injuries. Unknowingly, this allowed his loved ones to spend precious time with him one last time.
At 6:50 am on October 24th, just 4 days after the accident, our world changed forever when Joel was found unresponsive and in cardiac arrest. Despite the doctors’ best efforts, Joel passed away 45 minutes later aged 28, 3 weeks shy of his 29 birthday. We are yet to find out the reason why he went into cardiac arrest.
Joel was so much more than just a friend to me—he was family. His warm smile, his courage, and his unwavering loyalty. Now, we want to honor his memory in a way that reflects the love and support he showed so many.
We're asking for donations to help cover the unexpected costs surrounding Joel’s passing, including funeral expenses and any additional support his family may need. Any contribution, no matter the size, would mean the world to us as we work to give Joel the funeral he deserves.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness and support during this incredibly difficult time.
Jack.
