Joel Does Not Fight Alone

Hello family and friends: Jason, Pontus, Sam, Jonah and I have organized this account to help our dear friend Joel.

Joel is suffering and needs help. He is in emergency medical care for advanced (metastatic) cancer of unknown origin at Vanderbilt. The recently discovered tumors are massive and have attached to his liver and numerous bones. A formal diagnosis will come in a matter of days. We will share information as we get it but what we do know is time is critical in saving anything that these tumors have started to damage.

We are hopeful and the staff at Vanderbilt have been top notch, but so much help is needed; Joel cannot work and has expressed concern about the basic costs of life while in hospital. It is the last thing he needs. Perhaps one thing we can do is to lessen that stress; to buy him some time to focus on this rapid and sudden disease. Above all, it will tell Joel he is not alone; he fights with all of us by his side. He is loved and we are all rooting for him.
