This is a fund to help Joel Forbes, jazz bassist extraordinaire. As many of you know by now, Joel has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. He has completely retired from music and playing bass.
Joel was in the process of building a new room onto his home in Goldens Bridge…. All by himself! That is Joel. He is the real MacGyver. He devised pulley systems to raise the walls. Amazing.
Needless to say, Joel finds himself physically unable to finish the work on the new room extension and is putting his money and attention towards his MS treatment. There is a lot of work that needs to done in order to finish the construction and make it livable.
A group of his closest friends are trying to raise $15,000 to hire professionals to finish the work on his home so he can enjoy his house in as much comfort and for as long as possible.
For those of us who know and love Joel, love his playing, or just want to lend a hand... let’s help Joel go through this terrible time with as much dignity as possible.
