Hello everyone,
We have created this fundraiser in hopes that we will be able to support Joel Garza (T-bird) in his time of need.
On top of all of the situations that we have all been facing through this year, Joel has found himself in a very tough situation involving his health that has left him struggling not only medically, emotionally, but financially as well.
Earlier this year, Joel began experiencing problems with his vision and was left unable to see clearly out of one eye. He was slowly seeing a doctor to help him with this serious concern, but due to lack of work and insurance, the process was very slow and he was working hard on his own to continue to make ends meet and get the treatment he needed.
Later, about a month and a half ago, Joel found himself experiencing really bad headaches for several days. Thinking that is was stress related, he just let it go for a couple of days. He then began to think he had COVID, so he went to get tested, but his results were negative. A couple of days after his COVID test, the headaches continued and he found himself continuing to experience a severe headache and feeling extremely weak and tired. Due to the headache and having an extremely high blood pressure, he was transported to the hospital where he was told that he had actually had a stroke.
Due to this stroke, he was left without being able to walk on his own. He has slowly progressed to being able to walk using support, but is currently still in need of several months of physical therapy and recovery.
As you can imagine, this has been an extremely difficult time for him, in having to go through all of these things and ALSO stressing about the lack of funds to see a doctor, pay his house payment, pay his bills, etc. Joel is self-employed and unable to work due to these circumstances.
Everyone who knows Joel, will be the first to tell you that any time that anyone has needed his help and support, he is the first to help. He is one of the best cooks that any one of us knows and he will make BBQ for anybody in a heartbeat! :)
It is time for us to show Joel our love and support during this tough season in his life so that he can focus on his health and getting the medical care he needs.
Please pray for Joel first and ask God's healing and restoring power to heal him completely. Then, prayerfully consider if you are able to support in any way..... no amount is too big or too small. Finally, please share this with everyone you know. The more people that see it, the faster we will be able to reach our goal and help him be able to focus on what is most important---taking care of himself.
